Comprehensive Eye Exams

Routine eye examinations are an essential part of maintaining healthy vision and identifying eye problems. Yearly eye examinations have been recommended as a standard for good health maintenance.

A comprehensive dilated eye exam is performed in order to look for common vision problems and eye diseases, many of which have no early warning signs. In a dilated eye exam, the patient’s eyes are dilated with special eye drops. This allows the pupils to widen, giving your eye doctor a clearer view of the retina and the optic nerve.

We provide the following eye exams and treatments:

Your VisionFirst Exam Will Look Like This:

Step 1 – One of our technicians will take a careful medical history and take many measurements of your eyes to measure their focusing power and whether any correction is needed. These results are shared with the doctor.

Step 2 – One of our ophthalmologists or optometrists will review your eye measurements with you, explaining in detail what each measurement means.  If you wear contact lenses, we will also assess them at this time. The doctor will also look into your eyes to assess any abnormalities, including corneal disorders, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.

Step 3 – You will have a chance to ask any questions about your eye and vision health.
