Insurance
Do I have Eye Care Insurance?
Many people think that eye care is an option only if they have vision insurance. Our offices accept most vision plans PLUS the majority of medical insurance plans, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
So how do you know which insurance plan, Vision Insurance or Medical Insurance, will cover an eye care visit?
Some medical plans will not cover your eye exam if you only need eyeglasses or contact lenses, or if your eye exam is routine. If that describes your visit, use your VISION PLAN, or ask us about our special fees for patient who do not have routine vision coverage.
However, in some cases your poor vision could be caused by a medical condition, like dry eyes, an eye infection, or even cataracts or glaucoma. If you have an underlying medical problem that causes you to see poorly, your eye exam may be covered by your medical insurance.
