Dr. Bailey has led many regional and international service trips as the faculty advisor for UAB’s Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) chapter. She continues to participate in research for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, finding the best treatments for amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (eye turn) in children. As a student, she enjoyed volunteering at Camp Seale Harris, Alabama Institute for the Deaf & Blind, and also enjoyed providing eye care for veterans at the Tuscaloosa VA Hospital. She continued to volunteer with Remote Area Medical (RAMUSA.org) on weekend-long service trips providing free eye care to those in need.
Outside of clinic, Dr. Bailey enjoys hiking with her husband and their 2 dogs, live music, reading, and watching soccer.
