During the 2014 season, Barons fans will have the chance to win $100,000 thanks to VisionFirst Eye Center. If a Barons player hits the VisionFirst eyeball target located on the scoreboard, one lucky fan attending the game will take home the grand prize if their name is chosen. Fans will submit entries at Regions Field with an opportunity to donate to Sight Savers America as part of the VisionFirst promotion. VisionFirst will donate $100 to Sight Savers America for every Barons home run at Regions Field. Sight Savers America is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive eye care and services at no charge for underserved children from low income families in Alabama. The donations received by Sight Savers America during the Barons season will be used to provide life-changing Electronic Video Magnifiers (EVMs) for children with severe visual impairment. EVMs will open the world to these children by allowing them to magnify images up to 79X, allowing them to read, write and clearly see their motherʼs face for the first time.

“We at VisionFirst are excited to be partnering again with the Barons at Regions Field and Sight Savers America” says Dr. Mark Bearman, an ophthalmologist at VisionFirst Eye Center. “We look forward to raising money for Sight Savers so they can make a difference in a local child.” Dr. Mark McClintock of VisionFirst says “We want one lucky fan to go home $100,000 richer.”

“Sight Savers America is very appreciative that VisionFirst has chosen to make a huge impact on children with severe visual impairment. These children are at a big disadvantage in school and life because of their eye condition, but an EVM can level the playing field for these kids” says Jeff Haddox, CEO and Founder of Sight Savers America.

In addition to the homerun promotion, fans can bring their Barons ticket stub to any of the three VisionFirst locations including Alabaster, Homewood, and Trussville all season and receive 10% off in their optical shops. Discount applies to sunglasses, contact lenses, and eyeglasses. Promotion begins March 28th and offer cannot be combined with insurance and prior purchases. Some exclusions may apply.

The optometrists and ophthalmologists at VisionFirst Eye Center offer an array of optical, medical, and surgical services including routine eye care, iLASIK and Laser Cataract surgery. VisionFirst has been serving the Birmingham area since 1997.
